Gaslight Group, a collection of Savannah-based restaurants/bars founded by Brian and Jennifer Huskey, is pleased to announce The 5 Spot on Broughton will open on Wednesday, August 28, 2019. Located at the corner of Price and Broughton Streets (at 420 E. Broughton St. and formerly East End Provisions), The 5 Spot on Broughton will be Gaslight’s second location for the casual neighborhood kitchen and bar brand with the original 5 Spot located in Savannah’s Habersham Village.
“The decision to bring The 5 Spot downtown was an easy one,” said Brian Huskey, co-founder of Gaslight Group. “The 5 Spot in Habersham Village is loved for its casual-hip vibe, traditional American-inspired food offerings, and killer Happy Hour bar specials. Our goal is to recreate the magic of midtown and bring the same dynamic to Broughton St.”
Open Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner and Saturday-Sunday at 10 a.m. for brunch and dinner, the neighborhood eatery will serve up menu favorites including the Chicken Bacon Gouda Wrap, Fried Pickles, Meatloaf, Black & Bleu Steak Salad, Shrimp & Grits, The Reuben, House-Smoked Wings, and more. “The menu will be about 90 percent the same as our midtown location combined with some unique offerings specifically created for the new downtown location,” said Huskey.
Free parking is available in the parking lot across from the former Southern Motors Acura dealership on Broughton St. “With limited parking in downtown Savannah, we’re extremely lucky to have an entire parking lot to offer our customers free of charge. It’s so easy to access The 5 Spot on Broughton and park to eat-in or grab take-out, and not have to navigate the traffic of other downtown neighborhoods.”
For large groups, The 5 Spot on Broughton will also feature a downstairs event space with a separate bar area, private bathrooms, televisions, and sound system. “This space is perfect for private parties or large groups who enjoy spreading out. We’re looking forward to football season kicking off and getting the most out of this space. All you have to do is call ahead.”
Time-crunched customers can order take-out by calling ahead (912) 335-5522 or via Waitr, a food delivery/carryout app. Guests can also make a reservation through both Open Table or Resy apps.
