Saturday night a post was made to The Chromatic Dragon‘s Facebook announcing the restaurant known for video games and nerdy pub food will not reopen after it closed its doors in March.
I had passed by the Savannah location on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard this week and spotted the Help Wanted sign out front. At the time, I wondered how SCAD moving to online classes for the fall semester would affect their clientele and the ability to hire new employees. I guess this answered my question.
The Chromatic Dragon opened in Savannah in 2015. The gamer’s paradise offered patrons the chance to play video and tabletop games while chowing down on food and drinks named for popular video games as well as fantasy and sci-fi movies and TV shows. The restaurant was so popular that is opened a location in Pooler in 2018.
I reached out to The Chromatic Dragon on Facebook to find out what was next. A representative told me the owners intend to sell the Savannah restaurant with all the equipment and furniture. If you were planning to open a restaurant, this could be your chance.
The Pooler location, sadly, will also remain closed. A sister property, 8-Bit Donuts, will remain open in Savannah.
