The Town of Bluffton just added another notch to its culinary belt.
Already one of the best restaurants in the region, now FARM Bluffton is getting an opportunity to strut their stuff at the state level. Chef Brandon Carter of FARM has been named a South Carolina Chef Ambassador for 2019.
The Chef Ambassador program was created by South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism to not only promote the state as a culinary destination, but also showcase agriculture across the Palmetto State.
Every year, a group of South Carolina chefs are invited to participate in a variety of programs and events across the state. The goal, obviously, offer great food in the promotion of South Carolina Tourism but also to make sure everyone knows what kind of quality ingredients can be found within the state.
The chefs will take part in not only cooking demonstrations, but also educational discussions aimed at a variety of subjects including healthy eating and tips on feeding our children.
It’s a huge honor and one that will go a long way toward promoting Bluffton and Coastal South Carolina as a culinary destination beyond what we already know about Hilton Head Island.
A native of the Atlanta area, Chef Brandon came to the area to head culinary operations at Bluffton’s Palmetto Bluff community. His experience includes stops at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida and Mumbo Jumbo Bar and Grill in Atlanta.
Four other chefs join Carter as ambassadors for 2019. They are:
Chef Marc Collins of Circa 1886 and Kitchen 208 in Charleston
Jessica Shillato of Spotted Salamander in Columbia
Chef Tania Harris of The Lazy Goat in Greenville
Chef Kelly Vogelheim of Town Hall in Florence

Such a well-deserved honor! No one works more magic with veggies than Chef Brandon. And I love their new food truck.
