The man behind Halls Chophouse Charleston, one of that city’s signature eateries, passed away unexpectedly on August 19th.
The restaurant announced Mr. Hall’s death on their social media.
Hall was a mainstay of the hotel and restaurant scene in Charleston for more than 40 years. Halls Chophouse Charleston was opened in 2009. Since then, Halls has opened steakhouses in Greenville, Nexto, and Columbia, South Carolina.
Other restaurants owned by Hall include Rita’s on Folly Beach, Slightly North of Broad, and High Cotton.
There has been an outpouring of support from the community for Hall’s family. Charleston artist, Davidson Fong, painted a tribute on the Folly Boat.
