We actually very much enjoyed researching this one. So much so we couldn’t decide on a winner. So we solicited the input of an expert on beer in the Savannah area. If he chose one of our finalists, they’d get the nod. Our common thread? Old Guard from Service Brewing. There are a lot of beers to like but this one is different in that it is ‘accented by wildflower honey from Savannah Bee Company’. Add to that the fact that it is named for the 3rd ID “Old Guard” and you have a beer that is rather synonymous with Savannah. And deserving of our Beer of the Year Award.
