Southbound Brewing Company is teaming up with Savannah’s Bow Tie BBQ for their 2nd Annual “Let’s Get Saucy” chicken wing sauce competition on Saturday night, July 14th. Who’s competing? Well, you are!
“We had almost 20 contestants last year.” says Natalie Alexander, Taproom, Events and Social Media Manager for Southbound. “It was a great event.”
Alexander says last year’s event was set up a little differently because the brewery wasn’t allowed (by law at the time) to sell individual beers. This year, Georgia Laws are different. Which means admission to this event is free. Here’s how it works:
Contestants are asked to make a chicken wing sauce using a Southbound beer before they arrive at the event. They are asked to bring 64 ounces of it to pass out to guests. Guests can purchase chicken wings from Bow Tie BBQ’s food truck which will be at the event. Buy as many as you’d like. Then you get to sample the wings with the sauces created by the contestants. Very obviously, there will be plenty of beer available for purchase.
A panel of judges including Smith Mathews of Southbound Brewing, Corbin Parker from Bowtie BBQ, Kotter and Marshall from 106.1 and the Host of Eat It and Like It with Jesse Blanco. Savannah/Hilton Head Island’s highest rated local TV show.
