Celebrity sightings have become all too commonplace in Savannah the last few years. Not entirely surprising considering how many movies are being shot here. It is almost expected. The latest to make headlines all over town is Actor Will Smith, who is in Savannah shooting a film “Gemini Man.” When you know they are shooting a movie, seeing them around town is great, but not entirely surprising.
Sometimes, though, we get a surprise.
Actor John Travolta was spotted in Savannah earlier this week at Carey Hilliards in Savannah, where we assume he stopped in for dinner. The photo was shared with us by Pastor Andre Osborne of First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.
Was he passing through? Staying in town for a while? That’s a mystery.
This isn’t the first time Travolta has been spotted in Savannah. He spent time in the area while shooting The General’s Daughter in 1998. In 2009, Travolta was spotted in Savannah at both Ele Fine Fusion on Whitemarsh Island as well as Leopold’s Ice Cream. Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston was in town at the time shooting “The Last Song” on Tybee Island with Miley Cyrus.
Travolta has lived in Ocala, Florida for many many years.
