St. Augustine’s The Floridian leaving Old Town St Aug

For a decade and a half, The Floridian has been a staple on St. Augustine’s landscape. Excellent food and service easily made it one of the cities more popular casual eateries. Now they are making a move, away from the heart of Old Town St. Augustine over the Bridge of Lions to Anastasia Island. The announcement was made via social media this week by owners Genie and Jeff McNally.

“As they approach 15 years of service, The McNally’s are excited to announce they are building a new restaurant space in St. Augustine Beach that truly encapsulates the atmospher and vibe of The Floridian.” The statement read in part.

The Floridian has long been on our short list of best casual restaurants in St. Augustine. The food has always been great, but it was the ‘Old Florida’ vibe that made it unique. Anyone Florida native will tell you The Floridian captured the essence of a quieter, more recreational Florida that the owners grew up in as well. That laid back feel translated to the food as well. You just have to know, to know, you know?

The good news is they are moving, not closing. They’ll be in operation in Old Town at 72 Spanish Street until July 28th. The new location at 485 Old Beach Road is expected to open at the end of 2025.
