Just because large gatherings are cancelled doesn’t mean fundraisers are. Organizations and schools are getting creative to dish out food. That includes Georgia Culinary Institute.
The Bistro Savoir Interactif has long been used to raise money for the Patrick Williams Scholarship Fund, but since that’s been canceled, student chefs are instead throwing what’s being called a Big Pig Fundraiser feast.
The food is being prepared by culinary students as part of their fall semester.
It includes:
- House-prepared French garlic sausage (2 lbs)
- Applewood smoked pulled pork (3 lbs)
- Spareribs (two slabs ribs)
- Two sauces (8 oz. each):
- Smoked hickory sauce
- Alabama white sauce
- Smoked gouda mac and cheese
- Bacon braised collards
- Southern-style baked beans
- Cheddar jalapeño cornbread
- Apple crumble
Pre-ordering is available online until October 28th. The meal feeds about six people and costs $140.
You’ll be able to pick up the meals from noon until 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 5 at the Eckburg Auditorium at Savannah Technical College.
