Prohibition Savannah -Update

It has been quite a long time coming, but Savannah’s newest restaurant, Prohibition, is nearing completion and is tentatively scheduled to open for lunch and dinner on Monday, June 19th. They will be located at 125 Martin Luther King Junior Blvd, adjacent to the brand new Fairfield Inn Hotel on MLK and a few doors down from The Grey.

Eat It and Like It first reported plans for the Charleston-based upscale restaurant and bar in February of 2016. At that point, construction had yet to begin on the remodel. At that point, there wasn’t a start date for the work. During the middle of 2016, that build out got underway and, despite a few delays, is nearing completion.

“We had a few delays with the work here in Savannah” says James Walsh, one of the partners in charge of the project. “We had some things we ran into in Charleston going on that slowed us down here in Savannah, but we are back on track.”

Walsh says the Savannah concept will be “a little more progressive in design” than their Charleston property. “We are going for a little more intimate feel here in Savannah.”  Greg Garrison, Executive Chef in Charleston will also oversee operations in Savannah as well.

“We feel good about it. I’m excited about the guys coming to town.” says Walsh. “With Husk on the way and the others coming in, it is going to be great for Savannah.”

The space will feature an area for private events and live music in the back of the house. For a look at their Charleston dinner menu, click here.
