We generally don’t traffic in chains around here, but sometimes, you can’t help but notice.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, a staple on Skidaway Road in Savannah has closed its doors, yes, for good.
A sign on the door and drive through explains the ‘difficult decision’ for corporate in deciding to close this location. The store was iconic on the Savannah landscape for decades.
No official reason was giving for the closure, but the did say their Abercorn location on Savannah’s South side would remain open, hot and ready for doughnuts.
Charlotte-based Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1937.

Closing the Skidaway location is a bad decision. The doughnut from the Abercorn location don’t taste as good.
They also closed the store in Hinesville. They also have the exact sign posted and yes it is a mystery that is also painful to this whole town. Not saying they lied about the store not making it on it’s own. Think about this Hinesville and Fort Stewart now are down to just DD for a doughnut store.
