During a normal year, he Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island would serve Thanksgiving dinner, but due to COVID, that tradition was cancelled this year.
It comes at a hard time for the Lowcountry. The Club estimates about 45% of the families are earning less than $31,000 a year and some are without jobs due to pandemic layoffs.
That’s where FISH Casual Coastal Seafood stepped in.
Tuesday the restaurant handed out around 400 heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meals to club members.
“We are grateful to the Richardsons and their entire team for serving the community so often and so generously,” said Kim Likins, Club director.
“It is our honor to continue that commitment by supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island, ensuring they have access to Thanksgiving dinner in this unprecedented time,” said JR Richardson, owner of Coligny Plaza and founder of The Richardson Group, which includes FISH Casual Coastal Seafood.
