Without question, one of the best BBQ events I have ever attended. Let me just say that off of the top.
The FIREBOX BBQ weekend returns to St. Simons Island in October for its 3rd year with yet another outstanding line up of BBQ spots ready to line you up to Eat It and Like It.
The event runs Thursday, October 3rd through Saturday October 5th. It kicks off with a BBQ dinner and booze pairing dinner at Southern Soul BBQ in the heart of the island.
Joining the guys from Southern Soul on Thursday night will be Author and Chef Eddie Hernandez from Taqueria del Sol, a very popular group of Mexican restaurants in Atlanta, Athens and Nashville.
They’ll be pairing their offerings with Wild Heaven Brewery beers and Virgil Kane’s Portfolio of Bourbons. Find out more about Thursday night’s dinner here.
Saturday Night, October 5th is the main event on Gascoigne Bluff. FIREBOX. Nearly a two dozen pit masters from around the South will offer up unlimited bites of whole hog, ribs, pulled pork you name it.
There will be opportunities to ‘Meet the Masters’ maybe get in a little Q&A but largely enjoy a fabulous collection of BBQ.
Add to that endless tastings of spirits and brews as well as live music on a Southern Saturday night and you’ve got yourself the makings of a good time.
