Just in time for what amounts to the busiest time of the year in the Savannah area, particularly downtown, Edgar’s Proof and Provision inside of The DeSoto Savannah Hotel has unveiled a new, approachable menu.
The menu was created by Edgars P&P new Chef de Cuisine Vernard Flowers who’s been with the property for almost a year and previously worked at The Collins Quarter.
Comfort food is the name of the game with this incarnation of the Spring menu. Of course you will find their version of Shrimp and Grits as well as Chicken and Waffles, but a must try is the Four Cheese Brisket Melt (Cheddar, Muenster, Provolone and Gouda) served with BBQ Bourbon sauce. Edgar’s Nachos featured a pile of chips topped with melted pimento cheese and braised short ribs. Excellent on both counts.
There are also salads, lighter fare and ‘shareables’ to enjoy along the patio on Liberty Street between Bull and Drayton. One of the better dining vistas in the city. Especially this time of the year.
