Eat It HHI Weekend – 11/15

Mix, Mingle & Jingle, Rollers Wines & Spirits: Saturday, November 16, 2019 This 6th Annual Holiday Party features over 50 wine, beer and cheese tastings as well as one of the largest light displays in the area. Rollers opened this most recent location in 2018 and it’s not just a wine store – the art deco light fixtures suspended over a bar from 1920 lend a retro ambiance and there are private booths where wines and nibbles can be enjoyed. This retail store was also designed to host multi-course wine dinners and tastings for oenophiles on a regular basis. This event is held outdoors on the spacious terrace so dress accordingly and bring your dancing shoes as a DJ will be spinning the classics. Pizzas from Sprout Momma Bread will also be available – if you’ve ever stopped into her bakery, bread maker Kim Tavino makes some of the best wood-fired oven pizza around.  And when you find an item you’ve tried and you must take it home, Rollers will give you 15% off your purchase! Tickets are $50 (21 and older only) www.rollerswinesandspirits.com.

Music to Your Mouth: November 18 – 24, 2019 Last time we checked, this event was sold out but it may be worth a try to see if there’s a waiting list – this is one of the premier food events in the country held at Palmetto Bluff, a 2,200 acre community tucked between Hilton Head Island and Savannah.  Chef Ann Quatrano, Chef Kevin Johnson and Chef Bill Smith are some of the culinary firepower cooking this year at Music to Your Mouth, now in its 13th year. Single event tickets start at $125 and for the entire Whole Hog Weekend Package, coming in at $1,400, admits you to Rock the Dock, Southern Supper Club, Hair of the Dog 5K, Culinary Festival, Kiss the Pig Oyster Roast, The Pig Event, Biscuits & Jam Breakfast, and a swag bag. There are wine tastings, baking classes, a pop-up shindig with epic scenery, tours aboard Grace, the antique motor yacht built in 1913 – whew! There’s lots of time before we need to make that New Year’s Resolution. You know the one I’m talking about…to book your tickets early next year! The historic ruins of the mansion built in the early 1900’s and the May River Chapel are wonderful attractions along with the world-class hotels, spa and amenities.www.palmettobluff.com
