Eat It and Like It – Brunch

Thanks for joining us for our look at a few of the better brunches in and around Savannah and Hilton Head Island. There are a lot of them out there. Good ones too.  Here are the ones we mentioned, and a couple of others to add to your list.

B Matthews Eatery – Solid brunch downtown Savannah at Habersham and Bay Streets. Once upon a time voted Georgia’s best breakfast. Try the Bay Street Scramble.

Husk – Husk is one of the better restaurants in the city, beautiful space too, so it is easy to think brunch at Husk will break the bank. It will not. The Husk burger is very well known and very delicious. Only set you back $14 at brunch.

Cuoco Pazzo – Largely under the radar in Savannah’s Victorian District, Cuoco Pazzo does a lot of things well.  Brunch being one of them. Their ham egg and cheese flat bread is delicious, but the creme brulee stuffed french toast is outstanding.

Fork and Dagger Latin Diner – Fork and Dagger on Abercorn (Ironically directly across the street from Cuoco Pazzo) does great sandwich service and lunch specials. Their new diner at Habersham and Anderson in Savannah is sure to be a hit with brunch all day for now.   One thing to note:  Their hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm.  Saturday service coming soon.  They have a facebook page, but no website.

Palmetto Bay Sunrise Cafe -Hilton Head Island Palmetto Bay is the best breakfast on Hilton Head Island. Find it (it’s tucked away) and Eat It and Like It.

The Fitzroy – Downtown Savannah – The Fitzroy is relatively new (opened in March) but doing a great job with dinner as well as brunch. A spin off of the very popular The Collins Quarter, The Fitzroy is more Gastropub than CQ’s coffee house approach. Both are excellent. Both are a definite brunch treat.

Cahill’s Market – Bluffton – Cahill’s is no secret in the Low Country. If you live in Savannah, it’s well worth your 25 minute drive from the top of the Talmadge Bridge. General store at the foot of a farm nestled among the trees lining the area. Wonderful brunch. You name it, it is good. All of it homemade.

Ordinary Pub – Savannah – Ordinary Pub on Broughton Street made a name for itself on the heels of its brunch. A lot of spots do bottomless Mimosas, but OP thrives on it.  Their menu is creative (Pork Belly Slider Donuts, anyone?) but their staples are solid as well. Burgers, eggs, Bananas Foster French Toast.  You will Eat It and Like It.

Goosefeathers Cafe and Bakery – Counter service brunch near Elils Square in Savannah. One of our favorites if you are on a budget or in a hurry.
