If you haven’t eaten there yet, you’ve certainly passed the little seafood restaurant on the corner of Victory Drive and MLK Boulevard here in Savannah. The bright yellow building is hard to miss.
Every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, the restaurant holds a seafood festival to promote one of the dishes the owners pride themselves on: the Shabazz Seafood Platter. This year is no different. The festival is Thursday, September 3, at noon through Saturday, September 5, at 8 p.m.
Conde’ Nast Traveler actually recognized it as one of the best seafood restaurants in Savannah back in March.
You can register now to pick up your $20 dish that includes fish, shrimp, and Yusuf’s crab. Sign up for how many you want at Eventbrite. Registration is free. You’ll pay when you pick up the food.
“People place an order and can wait outside in our seating area or wait in their cars,” said Kalifa Shabazz, Shabazz Seafood’s Strategic Brand & Business Manager.
The seafood platter is available year-round, but Kalifa tells us this festival is a chance to feature it.
“It’s a weekend to bring people out to try the Seafood Platter.”
So if you haven’t tried the platter or Shabazz Seafood yet, this sounds like a good opportunity.
