A new category to the Eat It and Like It Foodie Awards, tacos in this town have become impossible to ignore. Not only have a number of taco shops opened around town, but a lot of the established Mexican restaurants are upping their taco game. Just for clarity, this award isn’t for Best Taco. It is for Best Taqueria, which is a restaurant that does nothing but tacos. If you are a fan, then you know all about Flaco’s Tacos in Pooler. Lunch time is a mob scene outside his tiny shack. So many cars are piled up for his food that the owners of the adjacent strip mall had to complain about his customers taking up their parking.
Flaco has since added a 2nd location at 95 and 204. All tacos are not created equally. While we enjoyed some of his tacos very much, there are a couple-like the carnitas-that are (for me personally) the best I have ever had. Anywhere.
