If you were looking forward to enjoying one of Atlanta’s best steaks this summer, you may be waiting a little while longer.
Rathbun’s, the incredibly popular chophouse along Atlanta’s belt line in Inman Park is now closed. The news was first reported by Tomorrow’s News Today in Atlanta. The reason, reportedly, is simple. Rathbun didn’t own the building where the restaurant is located. He was unable to come to terms on a new lease.

Rathbun opened the chophouse in May of 2004. Since then, the Inman Park neighborhood has become one of Atlanta’s hottest and most trendy neighborhoods. The AJC reports that the building will be torn down to make more parking for nearby Krog Street Market. (now THAT is desperately needed).
Also affected are Rathbun’s Krog Bar across the street.
Rathbun tells Tomorrow’s News Today he hopes to re-open his steakhouse in the future. There are some options for locations, but nothing close to final yet.
