A Little Spring Time Tidying 2026

I’ve felt compelled to share a few words this week, as I tend to do 2 maybe 3 times a year to shed some light on what we are up to behind the scenes here at Eat It and Like It World Headquarters. I equate it to breaking the 4th wall.

It’s a tiny effort at full transparency into the comings and goings here at food central. Bringing those who do actually care (and I know many of you do…I speak to you in public all of the time) up to speed on how we do what we do here. It’s been 15 plus years of following us for many of you. And I know you notice when something doesn’t look the same as it ever was.

No, I’m not moving to Hilton Head Island.

I’ve been asked a handful of times in the first portion of this year if that is the case, simply because we’ve been sharing more of the eats we enjoy North of the Savannah River. The reality is, I’m on the island fairly regularly for one reason or another. Yes, a lot of times I eat there. At some point we realized that I wasn’t always sharing that information. Now I am. The next thing you know, rumor central.

It’s become a running joke in my family because they know how much I enjoy Hilton Head Island. I wouldn’t mind having a small studio apartment crash pad there one day. One day. But Savannah is home, and it will be for a long long time if I have anything to say about it.

Got any secret eats you want to share in Bluffton, Beaufort or Hilton Head Island? We’re always listening. Tips@eatitandlikeit.com

Second, those of you who religiously devour our Thursday newsletter should be happy to see that it has returned. We had some scheduled maintenance planned immediately after St. Patrick’s Day this year. The plan was for 2 weeks. That turned into four. My apologies. We switched newsletter providers and learning some new ropes proved to be a taller order than we were led to believe.

I’m sharing all of that because we got several e-mails from some of you either demanding to be put back on the list or wondering why you were removed. No, we did nothing nefarious with your name or the list. We just went 4 weeks without putting one out.

So now that we are back, there are a couple of things I’ll share, but not go into too much detail. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

I’ve heard from some friends the last few weeks asking what was different about what we are doing. Actually we are doing nothing ‘different’ in covering the food scenes in Savannah, Hilton Head Island and the region in general. Even Florida.

What you will see going forward, however, is more. Much more. Some of you have noticed already. Some of you have commented. We hear you and we are very glad you are taking notice. We offer the most content in the region and 2nd place isn’t even close. We are very proud of that and thrilled about what is ahead.

You might also notice a larger presence on YouTube. Our channel eatitandlikeit1 is growing very nicely. We are excited about that as well. So feel free to subscribe and follow along. I even posted a review of my first ever cruise aboard Virgin. That was a great great time. If you are curious and need honest feedback, take a look. And no, I was not compensated by Virgin or anyone else for what I said. spoiler alert: The seafood was just not good. ew.

With house cleaning largely in order, the Eat It and Like It podcast will resume next week. 2 episodes per week.

Beyond that and into the Summer we’ve announced another Fried Chicken and Bubbles Dinner-in Pooler this time, we have a 3 event Summer Dinner Series on the horizon, I’ll be your chef for 1 of them (tickets here and pssst: It’s BYOB) and the end of Summer will feature the return of the Eat It and Like It Burger Bash, where we’ll be highlighting the best burgers from Richmond Hill to Beaufort and all of them in between.

Please be sure to follow along Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok (yeah, I gave in on that one).

Beyond that, I got nothing. So thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your Spring. We’ll chat again soon enough.
