When Sorry Charlie’s re-opened on Ellis Square, there was a tiny celebration from those old enough to remember when something had been in that space years before. For well over a decade, the space that is now Sorry Charlie’s sat empty. Abandoned, really. A few thought about making a run at renovation, but ultimately it sat. In 2015, after a nearly year long remodel, the historic building opened with his original neon sign out front. Inside, you will find a great scene for seafood. A little touristy, but still good. That includes the oysters, which are good if you enjoy a nice view of the square and the energy of downtown Savannah walking across your window. Great variety from up and down the East Coast as well.
