While we all spend the majority of our time running around making sure our holiday season is merry and bright, the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce is looking a little further down the road. As in Spring of 2019.
The Chamber is in the process of finalizing plans for expansion of its Taste of Bluffton yearly event. The 2019 Taste of Bluffton is expanding to a full 7 days and will include Bluffton’s first Restaurant Week promotion.
The week with kick off on Sunday, April 7th with the return of the Taste of Bluffton Tour of Homes at Hampton Lake. Last year, 4 chefs prepared dishes inside of model homes while guests were taken around via trolley to enjoy samplings of their dishes and wine parings.
The week-long event will continue on April 8th through the 11th with Bluffton’s 1st Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants will be providing a traditional ‘prix fixe” menu of 3 courses for $40.
“We don’t want to over do it in year one.” says Charlie Wetmore, one of the event’s organizers and board member at the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. “If we have 6, possibly 8 restaurants we think it will give everyone an opportunity to get out and enjoy a good deal for dinner.”
The week-long event will continue with a Friday night event yet to be finalized and then, of course, Saturday’s Taste of Bluffton Street fest, which regularly draws over 10,000 people to Calhoun Street while enjoying samples from dozens of area restaurants, live music and more.
“We will have much more on exactly who will be participating after the first of the year.” Wetmore says “For now, we just want everyone to know they might want to block off their entire week and make plans to join us.”
