Shalom Y’all Jewish Food Festival goes virtual

It’s that time of year where we would normally be planning our fall food festival circuit, but like so many other things this year, those food festivals are making other plans.

This week the Savannah Greek Festival announced it would be canceling this year. Though they have said they plan to be back next year, they are one of a growing list, including the Savannah Food and Wine Festival, the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival and the Savannah Food Truck Festival, that will not happen in 2020.

The Shalom Y’all Jewish Food Festival is still on, but with some big changes. It’s going virtual.

You’ll still be able to get food. It’s just that the cooking demos will now be on the Mickve Israel YouTube channel.

Jennifer Rich, the Executive Director and co-chair of the festival, tells us that the plan is to have food pickups available on November 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here are this year’s food options.

Stuffed Cabbage with Beef and Rice   $5 each
Chicken Matzah ball soup  $8 quart
Sweet Noodle Kugel   $4 slice
Coney Island Style Large Potato Knish  $5 each
Honey cake  $6 per loaf

You can order by calling 912-233-1547 or ording online here.
