Plant Riverside’s Social Table Dinners Deliver Excellence

Of all of the good eats you might be able to find along Savannah’s Riverfront, a significant concentration of them are happening at Savannah’s Crown Jewel of a visitor destination, the Plant Riverside District. High end, low end, it doesn’t matter. There are some exceptional eats being produced on that “campus” daily. Some of it may be as simple as a scoop of house made gelato, some of it may be the sheer elegance you will find at their Social Table dinners they’ve been hosting throughout the year at Stone and Webster Chophouse. The latter qualifying as some of the best eats in the city.

I attended the last Social Table event. It was a Pappy Van Winkle pairing dinner a while back, and came away feeling like that experience was among the best I’d ever had in Savannah. Hands down. From my seat, that is fairly high praise. All of it deserved, but I wasn’t really surprised.

I’ve watched PRD Executive Chef Eric Fullem and his team make these dinners singular can’t miss events at the property. We’ve had several conversations about the kind of thought and discussion that goes into the dishes that will be presented. All of that happens weeks, sometimes months, in advance. If it’s a Pappy Pairing dinner, for example, they are bringing some in to taste and discuss among the team to determine the best way to not only pair it with food, but accentuate what those particular flavors offer. For example:

It is truly culinary art at its best in Savannah. There is a lot of great talent in this city, but few compare to what Chef Eric and his staff are doing with these dinners. The good news is, there is one more left for 2025 and you still have time to take part.

The Social Table: Whiskey and Wild Game will be held on Thursday night, December 4th at Stone and Webster Chophouse at the JW Marriott. The spirit of the evening will be Makers Mark. The accompanying courses will include Quail, Wild Boar and Venison. Seating is limited to 40 and they are very likely to be sold out, if it isn’t already.

You can see the full menu here.

If you cannot make it to the Wild Game event, I suspect there will be more in 2026. I can’t imagine something this good going away. When they announce the return, we will certainly keep you pass it along.
