Date Night on Hilton Head Island
Looking for a special date night spot? Somewhere that’s cozy, delicious and a meal that encourages you to linger a little longer? Here are several options at Hilton Head Island that might fit the bill:
Chez Georges Bistro and Bar
Due to the caliber of their food and the impeccable service, Chez Georges is consistently one of our favorite special occasion restaurants at Hilton Head. It’s such a beautifully decorated, fresh and whimsical space offering fine French cuisine to Lowcountry diners. They offer bar seating, high tops and a lovely dining room.
Servers are well versed in all dishes so they make dining decisions easily understandable for folks who aren’t well versed in French dining. The menu has a little bit of something for everyone but be sure to save room for dessert!
What we order: escargots, french onion soup, bistro salad, steak frites, bouillabaisse and mille-fouille (layers of puff pastry and freshly whipped cream with berries) for dessert.
Pro tip: The bar area has an aperitif menu that features happy hour pricing for drinks and a small food menu including a delicious burger each day from 4:30-6PM. An early dining pre fixe menu is also available!
The Jazz Corner
Looking for dinner and a show? The Jazz Corner in Wexford Village has you covered! They offer about a dozen shows a week with a variety of bands and performers. The space is very small which makes there not be a bad seat in the house. Popular dinners include the jumbo lump crab cake, fried green tomato salad and cajun shrimp and grits.
How it works:
Buy tickets in advance through their website for a show and select your table. Each ticket requires the purchase of a meal (or two appetizers) per person to be enjoyed during the show. You can select your seating time once you book your show tickets.
Pro tip: The room is very dark during the show so plan to arrive early for dining before the lights go off.
Bowdie’s Chophouse
Bowdie’s is conveniently tucked into the south end of Hilton Head near Publix. It feels very warm, cozy and masculine with dark wood walls and dimmed lights. They offer semi circle booths in the bar area which allows you to sit close and share a meal.
Steaks are the star of the show and can be ordered with a variety of sauces including horseradish, creamy peppercorn and house aged worcestershire. The steak presentation is done so well with the staff slicing the meat for you at your table and plating the cuts to each diner’s preference. When sharing a steak, an extra hot plate is brought with melted butter and garlic so both diners enjoy their food. It’s a really nice touch.
What I like to order: wedge salad with lardons, shared ribeye, roasted brussel sprouts, and truffle fries
Yes, it’s an expensive date night but the service is excellent and so is the experience! Reservations are encouraged through OpenTable.
Ocean Lounge
Perched on the second floor of the Sea Pines Beach Club, Ocean Lounge is an adults only restaurant with phenomenal views of the Atlantic Ocean. The bar features one of the largest whiskey selections on the island and the dining area is cozy with big leather chairs and surrounded by large windows. They are best known for their massive seafood towers including oysters, shrimp, crab legs, mussels and clams.

What I like to order: hush puppies with hot honey, calamari, farmer’s market salad and fresh fish (I still dream about a branzino I had here last year..pictured below).

Pro Tip: Make reservations close to sunset so you can experience being surrounded by pink skies and ocean waves while enjoying your meal.
Cheers to a special night out with someone special!
