The guess here is that Kyle Jacovino, owner of Savannah’s best pizza at Pizzeria Vittoria, is breathing a little bit easier these days. Being able to actually make an announcement about the creation of a new restaurant had to have been just as much of a relief as it was exciting. That’s just what he did recently with the official announcement that Lucia Pasta Bar is coming to Savannah.

Big doings in the Starland District.

Kyle made the news official via social media.

“Lucia has been a dream for the past 4 years and after many hurdles, we’re finally going to make this restaurant happen.” he said.

Like he said, the journey to this point has been full of hurdles. Ultimately, it’s their story to share, but we do know that there were a number of plans made that fell through on their way to this point. Lucia Pasta Bar will occupy a portion of the old Starland Dairy facility which is currently being renovated at Bull Street and 41st in the heart of-you guessed-The Starland District.

The good news for Kyle is that the new restaurant will be a couple of hundred yards away from his incredibly popular pizza operation at Starland Yard. Pizzeria Vittoria has been on the scene in Savannah for 5 years and is widely regarded as our best artisan pizza.

Construction, like we said, is underway on the new pasta bar. Kyle says they expect to open in the Spring of 2025. And no, I don’t think he has any plans to try to be open by St Patrick’s Day.
