Every year when we discuss adding new categories, we pull a few. Just to keep it interesting. In 2018, we actually debated whether or not we would include Best Shrimp and Grits in the Foodie Award line up. When you think about it, Shrimp and Grits is almost as iconic as fried chicken in this region. The locals may take it for granted, but visitors come here looking for it. The Shrimp and Grits at Cotton and Rye is the best in the area. Last time we gave this award out, we gave the nod to someone else because the menu at Cotton and Rye only offered them as an appetizer. That is still the case, but if you want them as a main course, you can have them. Makes all of the difference in the world. Makes Chef Brandon’s Shrimp and Grits the best in Savannah.
