It is not lost on me that I could write this column in 4 lines. Who, what, when, where. We all know the why, right? Ultimately, it wouldn’t be fair for anyone that is new to the area and isn’t familiar with two of the most popular brands in their niches along the Georgia coast. Of course, we are talking about Back in the Day Bakery in Savannah’s Starland District and Southern Soul BBQ of St. Simons Island. Southern Soul this year named Best BBQ in the South by Southern Living Magazine. Yes, it’s that good.
A few months ago, the guys from Southern Soul took the Saturday morning ride up to Savannah for a morning fiesta if you will and it went about as well as you could have possibly imagined. The lines were long, but friendly, the food was some of the best you will ever have when it comes to BBQ and biscuits. And we mean ever.
It went so well, they are doing it again. The smokers will be set up bright and early I am sure, but rest assured at 9am they are going to start putting out handfuls of goodness. They say it’s so good “F-bombs are allowed.”
Getcha some of that!
You can find the party Saturday morning April 28th at Back in the Day Bakery. 2403 Bull Street in Savannah. As we mentioned, they’ll get going at 9am and are scheduled until 3pm. Unless, of course, they run out of everything. Which very well could happen. Get there early to Eat It and Like It.
See you on TV
