A Few Words about The Fall….Programming Notes

Happy Fall y’all.

I’ve got to be very honest, most of my cardio this Summer has been indoors because of the heat and humidity. But the last 10-12 mornings have been glorious. I’m back on the track and loving every bit of it. Except for the increase joint soreness, of course, but such is life.

I’m stopping by for a minute to share a few things with those of you who keep a closer eye on what we do here at Eat It and Like It. That includes our television show and newsletter and everything else we put out into the universe. First things first:

*If you watch the television show, Eat It and Like It with Jesse Blanco (12:30pm on WJCL-TV) will be in re-runs the next few weeks. August/September is always a time when when reset the deck. A Spring cleaning, if you will. Only it happens in the Fall. If you missed out on some of the Spring and Summer of 2025, you can probably seen some of it this month. We will-as we always tend to do-go deep into the vault as well. That’s always fun.

*I am more than elated to share that Eat It and Like It will begin our 16th Season of television in this market the weekend of September 27-28th. Check your local listing for exact time and set it to record if you are able to do so.

*If you’ve not seen our television show, we are inviting you to stop by and see what it is all about. We cover the food scene in the region like few can or will. 80% of our coverage is Savannah to Beaufort, but we also step outside that footprint to bring you good eats in Florida or elsewhere in the South when we find them.

*One last word about the TV show, I want to give everyone at WJCL-TV a huge public thank you for not only their continued support of our program, but the passion with which they do so. There is not a single person in that building who hasn’t treated us like family since day one 4 years ago. That matters a great deal to me and it is not something we take for granted.

*With that as a backdrop, a little bit of foreshadowing. We are going to be trying some new things this Fall and into the Winter of 2026. You’ll know it when you see it and we hope you will enjoy it.

*I mentioned via video last week that our first ever Burger Bash was by all accounts a success. Room for growth and improvement? Always. I would expect it to return bigger and better in August 2026.

*We’ve got some big announcements coming in about a month or so. You’ll know it when you see it, but suffice to say the excitement around here is fairly thick.

*Two more things before I go for now:

*If you have any suggestions or inputs on what we do or what you see anywhere on our air (television) or on social or any other platform, we are always listening. Please email us at tips@eatitandlikeit.com. Those emails eventually get to me, where we take any and all feedback under review. Sometimes its for 10 seconds, sometimes 10 minutes, but we are always listening. tips@eatiandlikeit.com

*Finally, a quick thank you to for reaching this point of the post and to everyone for their continued support of everything Eat It and Like It. It sounds like I say it all the time, but I will never pass up on an opportunity to thank each and every one of you not only for your support, but for your trust.

We may not always agree on what is our favorite foods are out there (which I think is healthy), but one thing you should know about me by now is that I’m always going to tell you what I believe to be true. Something that has become more and more of a lost art out there. That’s the main reason why I’ve been allowed to keep this job for a decade and a half.

OK, I’m starving. See you soon.

Jesse
