There are a handful of burgers we love in Bluffton. You likely know all about them and I’m certain you have your favorite(s).

But if you haven’t heard of Slap Truck yet, don’t worry — you need to find it. This food truck has been making serious noise on the streets of Bluffton and honestly, the hype is completely deserved.

The man behind the magic is Matthew Valentino, a guy with a lifetime of kitchen experience and a whole lot of ideas. The concept actually started as a neighborhood barbecue service when Matt noticed his area was seriously lacking in good food options. His neighbors loved it and kept telling him to take it further. After almost two years of planning, he finally pulled the trigger — and Bluffton’s burger scene-and frankly-street food scene, is better for it.

The star of the show is the Big Slap — a triple patty burger that’s essentially Matt’s love letter to the Big Mac, except made with certified Angus beef and way better ingredients. It’s massive, it’s indulgent, and it is absolutely worth every bite. Not feeling quite that adventurous? Try the Widowmaker — a double patty loaded with pulled pork and bacon. Yeah, there’s no light eating happening at this truck.

And if burgers aren’t your thing, the Nashville Hot Pork Sandwich — layered with pimento cheese, fried pork, pulled pork, honey, pickles, and Jack Daniel’s sauerkraut — will absolutely change your mind about what a sandwich can be.

Oh, and the fries? Hand cut. Every single one. You can taste the difference immediately.

Chicken sandwich lovers will love the Side Boob. I’ll let him explain the name of that one.

Fair warning: none of this is diet food. Matt himself will tell you that straight up. But when something is this good, you find a way to make room.

On the higher end of the spectrum (Photo above), but handmade and delicious every single time. Don’t hold me to this, but it’s probably the most popular item on their very popular bar menu. For very good reason.
