It’s hard to believe it is already in its 7th year, but it is not hard to believe it is one of Savannah’s most popular Summer promotions. Leopold’s Ice Cream’s ‘I Pledge for Ice Cream’ event is back for the month of the July. The bottom line is pretty simple. Free ice cream.
As in years past, the rules are simple. Any child age 12 and younger (accompanied by an adult) who can recite the pledge of allegiance is given a free child’s scoop of ice cream in any flavor they’d like in a cup, cone or sugar cone. Plenty of choices for that sugar rush!
There are specific dates and times when the promotional event is held. And it is only during the month of July. Leopold’s will be having a ‘kickoff event’ for the pledge on Saturday, July 1st from 4pm until 7pm. After that, they will be held every Monday afternoon through the month of July. Dates are as follows:

July 10th
July 17th
July 24th
July 31st
Each date is a Monday in July and it will only be offered from 4pm until 7pm.
Ice cream entrepreneur and Hollywood movie producer, Stratton Leopold and his wife Mary, launched the I Pledge for Ice Cream Project in Savannah, GA on July 1, 2010 to underscore the importance of teaching patriotism to young children. This simple yet effective, project has been wildly successful, spreading all over the United States with 36 states and over 125 shops participating!
