We can’t say enough about Leopold’s Ice Cream can we? It seems like we’ve run out of superlatives to describe the authentic, homemade goodness Stratton and Mary Leopold serve up regularly on Broughton Street. Certainly those of us here in town know about it. It is without question the number one ice cream shop in Savannah. Not only did most Savannanians grow up on it when they were located at Habersham and Gwinnett, but it’s also a favorite with kids now. My 11-year-old will attest to that. Leopold’s has gotten it’s fair share of love nationwide, as well. Now there is another list they’ve been added to and as a result, so has Savannah. In a recent Travel and Leisure list of America’s favorite cities, Savannah and Leopold’s were named Best Ice Cream City. Great news for a great ice cream family. By the way, in case you missed it, they also won Best Dessert at Taste of Savannah for a second straight year.
