Dessert

Life is most certainly uncertain, right? Gotta eat cake first sometimes.

A quick guide to the spots we featured in our desserts episode. There are plenty of great ones out there. Long beyond what we showed you, obviously.

The Purple Cow – Hilton Head Island

Spots like Bernie’s (Lisa Bernstein) have been popping up everywhere. We were surprised to hear that Hilton Head Island didn’t have one until Spring/Summer 2015. The Purple Cow is a perfect blend of something sweet with a cocktail perhaps. That French Toast Donut Sundae was every bit as good as it looked.

Cocoa’s Martini Bar -Wilmington Island

It doesn’t get much more ‘local’ than Cocoa’s. Not too many frills at this spot on Wilmington Island. Very few, but they do offer solid desserts along with creative drinks and always…always warm smiles and hospitality.

The Bluffton Room -Bluffton

The first thing you see when you visit The Bluffton Room’s website is a photo that says “The Lost Art of Dining.” I have to say that sums it up rather perfectly. As I mentioned in the show, The Bluffton Room is very much a throwback. High back booths almost scream “please stay a while and enjoy your meal.” The Bananas Foster is every bit as good as it looked and do yourself a favor, don’t overlook their burger. Exceptionally well made. As is everything there, really. Keep in mind, this is comfortable fine dining. It is not inexpensive, but I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

Meanwhile, did you miss the episode? There it is, at the top of this page.

See you on TV,

Jesse
