Eat It and Like It Programming Notes

We all joke about the passage of time regularly. You finally get around to putting your winter coats back into boxes in the attic and you look up and say “Wow! I can’t believe it’s July already! Where did the time go?” Doesn’t it feels like it was just 5 minutes ago that we were watching the University of Georgia topple Michigan in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve?

It does for me.

Fortunately, I’ve not been in quite that deep of a slumber. Ain’t nobody got time for that. It’s been an interesting month to say the least, but we do want to start bringing you some of the highlights from our food scene to your television and smart device. And we are about to.

What I am just climbing out of is a whirlwind January. As I write this, there are 4 short days left in the first month of the year. That doesn’t mean our January wasn’t just an absolute thrill a minute (full sarcasm added for effect).

January has been maybe the biggest challenge scheduling wise since the shutdown. COVID-19 has been practically everywhere the last 60 days. It even made it inside of my own home. Thankfully, everyone is doing just fine.

You add all of that to some semi-regular pre-empted broadcasts on WTOC this winter (because of the sports calendar) and we end up with a mess of our TV schedule. I haven’t crunched any numbers because ultimately it doesn’t matter, but I think we had more shoots postponed in the last 30 days than we had the previous 3-4 months.

Holday fog? Sure. Winter? Of course. Threat of COVID? Absolutely. It has been a mess.

All of that to so say this: We finally are beginning to feel like we a crawling beyond all of our issues with the calendar and have set our eyes on the weekend of February 12/13th. That’s the weekend we will return with new programming on WTOC. No, we won’t be airing in our normal Saturday Noon time slot that weekend, but we know a lot of you record our show and watch it on your own time.

That’s the marker for new Springtime fun and food around here.

Not to worry, there will be plenty of reminders to set your DVRs. If you don’t have a DVR, welp, we will hope you will catch up with us soon enough. The content will be there. On television and on-line. In the interim, you would be doing yourself a great service if you followed us on social media. Primarily Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedn.

I’ve gone on long enough. Back to work. Thanks for stopping by. If there are any eats out there you think we should know about, drop us a line. tips@eatitandlikeit.com

Cheers
Jesse
