They may not date back quite as far as the historic building they occupy, but this Chippewa Square spot is self-proclaimed to be the oldest coffee shop in town. This constantly busy spot is large but cozy. Not a chair matches, but no one minds from their window recliner, nestled in with a book, Flavor of the Day and generous slice of chocolate cake (which is a must try). Variety is the spice of life here from drinks to decadent baked treats to lighter fare to the patrons coming through the front door. If you prefer tea leaves to coffee beans, this is definitely your place. On a weather friendly day, their outdoor seating lends itself to a quintessential downtown Savannah experience.
