Statesboro’s Bull and Barrel Announces Expansion to Savannah
And just like that, Savannah’s worst kept culinary secret is officially out of the bag. There’s a new steakhouse coming to town.
Bull and Barrel, A Statesboro-based steakhouse has officially announced their expansion into the Savannah market. They will be going into the building at 37th and Abercorn Streets in the building formerly occupied by La Scala Ristorante Italiana.
That property officially sold a few months back for just under $3 million after just over a year on the market.
It didn’t take long before word got out that it was the group behind Statesboro’s Bull and Barrel that had purchased the building. That spurred immediate speculation that it would be another steakhouse, their 2nd, in the heart of Savannah. Well now the news is officially official.
Ownership told Savannah’s WTOC-TV that it was an opportunity they felt they couldn’t pass on.
There will now be some renovations and tweaks before an expected opening late 2026.
That opening will likely come just after another major steakhouse with plans for the Hostess City. Michigan-based Bowdie’s Chophouse has begun their build out at the Eastern Wharf development along the Savannah River. Bowdie’s has a location across the river on Hilton Head Island.
