Three Savannah Brunches Worth Your Weekend

Three Savannah Brunches Worth Your Weekend

There are so many great options for brunch in and around Savannah. I could rattle off 5-6 that I love in about 30 seconds. For the sake of brevity, here are three Savannah brunch spots that don’t get talked about enough. Each one is worth a weekend morning. None of them is the place everyone’s posting about on the regular, which is exactly why I think they are off the regular radar and more people should know how good these eats are..

Veratina – 606 Abercorn near Forsyth Park
We love Veratina for dinner, so it’s easy to forget the brunch. Don’t. In the Victorian District, the menu covers pastas, omelets, and a few brunch pizzas, but the move is the house-made chicken biscuit with Calabrian pimento cheese, pickles, and honey. Sit outside while the weather’s still cooperating.

Husk – 12 West Oglethorpe Downtown Savannah
Husk downtown has been a Savannah staple for years, and brunch is no exception. Husk’s raw bar is among the best in the city, so naturally the oysters are going to be standouts. The frittata was stellar and the new Cheerwine pancake with dulce de leche and plum is worth ordering. Oh yeah, almost forgot about their house made pastrami benedict (photo above). I’ve said since day one that the burger is top three in the city. It still is. So good was this brunch, that I recorded an entire review for our podcast. Check it out here.

Tortugas Island Grille – River Road, Thunderbolt
Out in Thunderbolt, Tortugas does exactly what you’d hope: home-cooked food, fair prices, a full bar, and coffee the old-fashioned way. They’ve been at it for 15 years. The outdoor seating across from the waterfront is the best part, especially on a clear day. This is the definition of ‘off the beaten path.’ The locals all know about it, so if you don’t….you should.
