5 Great Savannah Happy Hours
Whether you’re visiting Savannah for the first time or you’ve called the city home for 20 years, it’s no secret this town has a knack for inviting its newcomers and residents alike to belly up to the bar. But while dive bars and hotel lounges are a dime a dozen, the celebrated, elevated happy hour is a little harder to come by. So for those looking to kill time before a late dinner reservation or let off some steam after a long day at work, here’s a guide to some top spots for enjoying a bev or two (or three, we’re not counting) while being kind to your wallet…or company card.
Always check social channels or websites for the latest offerings and times! Happy Hour menus have a tendency to change at a moment’s notice or rotate weekly!
For getting that neighborhood feel – Ardsley Station
Ardsley Station is often recommended for its great dinner vibe, unique brunch menu (birria chilaquiles and pulled pork benedict, hello??) and patio seating, but we’re forgetting about its happy hour(s) – yes, plural because these specials are offered 3-6 p.m. AND 9-10 p.m. every. day. We’re talking $3 off craft cocktails and wine by the glass, $2 off bottled and canned beers, seltzers and ciders, and $6 wells. Not to mention, $2 off small plates. I’d go with the Station Spritz and Buttermilk Fried Oysters.
For when you’re walking down River Street – Bar by Fleeting at Thompson Savannah
Yes, it’s a hotel bar and it’s allll the way down River Street, but Fleeting Hour makes the walk worth it. I’m personally recommending the $5 Belvedere Espresso Martini. Full Stop. BUT if you’re looking for other options, they also offer half off beer and wine…and a $70 bottle of Veuve Clicquot for those looking to really make the hours happy. Check it out 4-6 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday.

For the exotic vibe – Water Witch
I. love. a. tiki. bar. And Water Witch isn’t just giving us a cheap well drink to power through for happy hour, it’s serving full on island-worthy sips 5-7 p.m., Monday-Friday. A $9 Daiquiri of the Moment (we love a mystery drink) or Kamerona’s Kick made with vodka, limoncello, orgeat and lemon sound like a really ideal way to wind down while surrounded by ocean paraphernalia and potentially reruns of The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. Word on the street is you can also purchase one of the themed tiki glasses to take home…don’t ask me how I know this.
For an elevated Happy Hour – Cotton & Rye
Cotton & Rye is a Savannah staple for a nicer dinner, but did you know it also has an incredible rotating Happy Hour snack menu and dinner specials that are most definitely worth a shoutout? This one will require a check of the Facebook or Instagram page for the latest menu, but the recent Girl Dinner offer – A Caesar salad, truffle fries and a martini for $24 – made my jaw drop. Snacks like tater tots topped with hollandaise and paddlefish roe ($9) or Snickerdoodle Cobbler ($13) go to show C&R is not playing around with its happy hour options. Pair the snacks with a $7 Angry Peach, made with vodka, lemon, creme de pache and honey, or the C&R Old Fashioned for the full effect – but you have to be quick, these specials are only available 5-6 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.
For something one of a kind – Brochu’s Family Tradition
Brochu’s gets credit right out of the gate for the clever take on its evening libations + small plate menu – Sour Hour. This monthly rotating selection, offered every Wednesday and Thursday from 5-6 p.m., always features a pickle-y element (hence the name), and right now you can enjoy a Pickle-tini ($10) made with a tart splash of brine or selections created to reflect the season. The current options include the Spooktacular Moments cocktail ($10), featuring the appropriate mix of rum, spices and pumpkin, and the Hallo-Wings ($12) tossed with orange pepper sauce and black spice – we love a theme and a deal.
