Starland’s UKIYO Now offering Weekend Lunch Service
For as popular as Savannah’s Starland District has become, the options for lunch have always been limited. The neighborhood’s loss if three favorites: Trick’s BBQ, Starland Cafe and Squirrel’s Pizza in under a year narrowed the choices in that area for lunch. Now UKIYO is looking to fill some of that void with the announcement that they have begun weekend lunch service.
UKIYO Japanese eatery, owned and operated by Southern Cross Hospitality (The Collins Quarter, The Fitzroy, The Deck on Tybee) will be opening their doors at noon on Saturday and Sundays going forward, but offering their dinner menu.

Ukiyo is approaching their 3rd anniversary at Bull Street and 39th Streets in the heart of the Starland District. In that time, they’ve become a locals favorite for sushi, ramen and other Asian inspired dishes.
Trick’s BBQ moved to Savannah’s West side last year. Starland Cafe ended a 25 year run back in January of this year. Squirrel’s Pizza closed at the end of 2024 to focuse on their location at the Eastern Wharf Project at the Savannah River. Those were 3 options in the neighborhood now gone.
Outside of Starland Yard, good options for lunch include Flora and Fauna, The Vault and Crispi Smash Burger food trailer at Two Tides Brewing. On the weekends, you can now add Japanese to the menu.
