If you enjoyed the culinary delights we offered with Eat It and Like It’s Restaurant Week a few weeks ago, now you have a chance to do it again. All you have to do is take your dining dollar out to the beach.
Tybee Island Restaurant Week kicked off on Friday night with about a dozen restaurants participating. It will run until February 29th.
“We got a lot of feedback from participating restaurants last year” says Cassadi Kendick, with Tybee Island Mainstreet.org “Some of the restaurants are closed in January so they wanted to move it to February.”
Tybee Island’s Restaurant Week had previously been held in the heart of the winter and was met with a chilly reception, pun intended. Moving the 2 week long event down a month still allows participants to see a bump in traffic during an otherwise very slow time of the year.
By Mid-late February, if there is any sign of a warmer temperature, people are ready to head outside to enjoy it.
Some island favorites like AJ’s Dockside, The Deck, Pier 16 and Sea Wolf are part of the Restaurant Week roster this year.
