There is no question that Restaurant Week is one of the most popular weeks of the year for food around here. Even if you don’t make it out to a particular restaurant, everyone loves to look at menus. I suppose that’s a low calorie way to enjoy from afar, right?
When David Moses and I agreed to attempt to bring back Savannah Restaurant Week following a year off, we knew from the start it would be a challenge. Why? Well, we recognized that so many restaurants have their own challenges right now. Staffing being the largest problem. That’s been discussed a bunch. But also getting a regular flow of supplies as been challenging as well. I’ve heard too many horror stories to share.
Still, the state of the industry being what it is, we thought we’d offer an opportunity for local restaurants to market themselves to a different audience. We figured that once kids started going back to school during August, that the crowds would start to taper off.
We’ve already started to see that around the area. So it was the perfect time to get some locals out to eat it and like it.
We are excited to have the restaurants we have on board. All of them are offering dinner only. Except late addition Emporium Kitchen and Bar inside the Perry Lane Hotel. They are offering a special Brunch menu every day during Restaurant Week. August 20-29th. Brunch at Emporium. Sounds like fun.
