Sizzling Stones in Fort Myers: Your next must try

By Brooke Peck with Hi From HHI

I was in Southwest Florida recently and have to share a special dining experience from my trip!

Sip & Sizzle in downtown Fort Myers is a rare dining opportunity that allows diners to customize their dinner menu AND help cook it!  We started off by ordering our main dish with carnivore and omnivore options. I selected the angus filet, salmon and cauliflower steak.  Next, I selected my two side dishes- roasted broccolini and truffle fries and finally, three dipping sauces.

Then the thrilling part happens… our food was brought out on a flat cooking stone that was heated to 500 degrees fahrenheit!  The hot stones sizzled loudly with our main dishes on top and with a slight seer from their short time on the scorching stone.  It reminded me of the excitement of a hot plate of fajitas being set in front of you but with a little less steam.  Once the food was delivered, we were now in charge of grilling the food to our preferred temps of perfection.  I patiently waited and watched as my steak reached my favorite level of medium rare before I removed it from the grill to my plate.  Playing around with different flavor combinations of proteins mixed with the three dipping sauces was so much fun.  My favorite unions were dipping the filet in green chimichurri sauce and my truffle fries in mushroom demi glaze!

We ended the meal in the best way possible, with a chilled chocolate mousse cake on a warm Florida evening!
