Shalom Y’all Jewish Food Festival Returns Sunday

Published November 3, 2026

Who: Congregation Mickve Israel hosts the 37th Annual Shalom Y’all Jewish Food Festival, powered by a small army of volunteers.

What: One of Savannah’s most popular food events of the year. Admission is free, and the menu is a deli-lover’s dream: chicken soup with matzah balls, potato latkes, noodle kugel, knishes, and cholent. Corned beef and pastrami on rye anchor the meats, with chicken shawarma for something different. Save room for blintz soufflé, honey cake, hamentaschen, fresh challah, and treats from the Sisterhood Sweet Shop. Wash it down with a traditional egg cream, Dr. Brown’s soda, beer, or wine. Add live entertainment and family-friendly activities, and you’ve got Southern hospitality with a Jewish twist.

When: Sunday, November 8, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Congregation Mickve Israel, 20 E. Gordon Street, on Monterey Square in downtown Savannah.

Tickets: Food is purchased with tickets, which are sold in $10 increments. Skip the ticket line by buying in advance on the Mickve Israel website. Pick up your tickets at the CMI office Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or at the Will Call booth on festival day.

Why go: Because this is Savannah tradition at its best. Mickve Israel is one of America’s oldest Jewish congregations, and every year the festival opens its doors and shares its table with the whole community. Real deli, made with care by people who’ve been doing it for decades, in one of the prettiest squares in town.
