The good news is we were spared by another nasty storm approaching the Southeastern United States. You don’t have to have a trap door memory to remember Hurricane Irma two years ago. At the time, she was the “worst storm in Atlantic history” and the cone of uncertainty appeared to have been pointed right at Tybee Island.
That was no fun. Neither was Dorian.
It was a little more unnerving this time around with the latest ‘worst storm in Atlantic history” was coming up on the Bahamas and projected to turn north. Ultimately, we escaped nearly unscathed.
A lot of people will complain about the inconvenience of being forced to evacuate AGAIN for essentially a non-event. That’s just foolish. What if it wasn’t? And that was certainly a possibility.
Among the ‘inconveniences’ in my book was us being shut out of our office building Downtown Savannah. Last Sunday we were told “Come get your essentials and work from home.” Yeah, it doesn’t exactly work that way for us.
We did move some projects along during a crazy week. Some we cannot wait to share, however, production of our first episode four a new season of Eat It and Like It with Jesse Blanco all but came to a halt.
In the big picture, no biggie. It just moves a week to September 14th.
In the small picture, get out there and enjoy the weekend. It’s going to be beautiful out.
Cheers
Jesse
