There’s been a lot of buzz coming out of the Starland District this week with the anticipated opening of its newest restaurant.
UKIYO is a Japanese street food concept brought to you by the same group behind The Collins Quarter, The Fitzroy and The Deck out on Tybee Island.
Opening night is tonight (Thursday). 5pm.
I spoke at length with Executive Chef AJ Benacquisto this week and plan to share his story and vision for this space with you in the next few days.
In the short term, you can enjoy a variety of plates, buns and ramens on the corner of Bull Street and 39th. The space formerly occupied by Chazito’s 786. Nothing on the menu I saw was over $20.
Give it a spin. It’s a beautiful space at night with a great vibe. Savannah is going to enjoy this.
