Savannah’s Strangebird Damaged by Fire

An overnight fire at Strangebird in Savannah’s Victorian District has caused some serious damage.

Savannnah Fire tells WJCL News that they got a call at 2:40am. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes.

From the outside, it would appear the majority of the damage was to a shed behind the building and the very popular Strangebird food truck. That’s to say nothing about any damage to the actual structure, whether by smoke or flames. Some of which is clearly visible.

Strangebird is owned by the very popular FARM Hospitality group. Sister restaurants include Common Thread, FARM Bluffton, Wildflower Cafe at the Jepson Museum and Flora and Fauna in the Starland District.

Strangebird opened in 2023

Strangebird is housed in the SCAD owned Streamliner Diner at Barnard and Henry Streets in Savannah’s Victorian District. They offer a variety of street food items including burgers, tacos and chicken sandwiches.

Savannah Fire was still on the scene Tuesday morning.
