Savannah’s Ordinary Pub Announces it will not Re-open on Broughton Street

After 18 months of trying to find a path forward following hurricane damage and that roof collapse in October of 2024, The Ordinary Pub has made it official—they will not be reopening.

The team shared the news this week via social media, closing the book on a decade-long run that made them one of the more recognizable spots on Broughton Street. If you spent any time downtown, you probably passed through at some point—whether it was for brunch, late-night bites, or one of their themed weekly specials.

The reality is, they gave it a real shot. The goal all along was to get the doors back open, but sometimes the logistics just don’t line up.

That said, this doesn’t read like a group walking away from the business altogether. Not even close.

We are speculating here, but the sense that something else is already in motion is obvious. No details yet, but “next adventure” isn’t accidental language—especially from a team that’s been as active in the Savannah scene as they have. Besides, those pork belly donut sliders need a home. Please and thank you.

So yes, The Ordinary Pub is done as we knew it. Common on Broughton, their sister restaurant down the street remains as popular and delicious as ever.

But don’t be surprised if you’re hearing from this group again sooner rather than later.
