Savannah’s Fourth of July Celebrations

It will be a long weekend next weekend with holiday festivities beginning on Thursday, July 4th and lasting through the weekend. Sure, you can enjoy a good time at the beach on Tybee Island -their ‘go time’ is about 9:15pm on Thursday, but the celebrations will not end there. If you are looking for ideas on how to enjoy the weekend a little differently, here are some options.

PLANT RIVERSIDE DISTRICT

To no one’s surprise, the biggest 4th of July celebration in Savannah will be happening in and around the Plant Riverside District and the JW Marriott.

The fun will begin about 11am on Thursday and run all the way through the weekend. There will be live music on multiple stages, evens for kids, DJs and much more all weekend long on Savannah’s Waterfront. Take a look. Plus 13 venues for food and drink. A very convenient one stop shop.

EASTERN WHARF – SAVANNAH

Eastern Wharf will host a free community concert on Thursday, July 4th, featuring a 90-minute riverfront performance by the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra. The event runs from 7-10 p.m. and concert attendees will enjoy spectacular views of the annual fireworks display, provided by Savannah’s Waterfront at 9:30 pm.

Event food trucks include Low Country Lobster, Royal Tasty, Slow Fire BBQ and Rita’s Ice. Eastern Wharf’s own Squirrel’s Pizza and Honeysuckle Gelato will be open for attendees as well!

Free face painting will be provided by HueDat Face Painting.

This free event is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and SMALL coolers. There is street parking on site as well as parking in the Eastern Wharf garage.

BROCHU’S FAMILY TRADITION

If you don’t want to spend all day down on the River, you can stop off in the Starland District before hand for the courtyard cookout at Brochu’s Family Tradition. They’ll be out there from 1pm until 4pm Thursday serving food outside. There will be cold drinks and live music most of the afternoon. A great way to burn the day, without yourself getting burned.

THE LOST SQUARE AT THE ALIDA HOTEL

Lost Square is The Alida’s Rooftop venue. It may just feature the best view of the Savannah River in the city. Perfect for Fourth of July Fireworks over the Westin. They’ll be featuring live music on Thursday beginning 6pm on Thursday. There will also be live music downstairs at Rhett, their River Street level restaurant.

THE BRICE

The Brice is having a party on Friday, July 5th. A pool party. The property is hosting a “Team USA Pool Partay,from 11am-5pm onFriday, July 5, to not only commemorate our country, but to honor Team USA competing in this summer’s Paris 2024 Olympics. 

Think smoked meats and sweet treats with delicious smoked chicken and pork to make the most mouth-watering sandwiches topped with coleslaw plus milkshakes made poolside, beer on tap, a USA-inspired bathing suit contest and more! The whole family is welcome for some fun in the sun – $15 for entry. Not a bad deal for day pass to a beautiful downtown pool.

TWO TIDES BREWING COMPANY

Two Tides is celebrating the weekend on Saturday, July 6th. There will be extra seating along DeSoto Avenue, vendors and much more to enjoy a Saturday afternoon in Starland. That’s Saturday afternoon from 3pm until 9pm.
