Savannah’s Fork and Dagger to close at year’s end
We can call this one another sign of the continued changing face of the food in and around Savannah.
Fork and Dagger, a popular Latin/Southern inspired diner on the edge of Savannah’s Victorian District has announced they will be closing their doors at year’s end. The building’s owner, SCAD, has decided not to renew their lease and make some improvements to the structure at the corner of Habersham and Henry Streets.
Sky Hoyt, owner at Fork and Dagger, made the announcement via social media.
Fork and Dagger was an instant hit 6 years ago when they opened in the ground floor of the Chatham Apartments building on Abercorn Street in Savannah. Their sandwiches, coffees and lunch specials were a big draw because of their quality combined with a lower price point. The concept then moved and expanded to the “Bobbie’s Diner” building on Habersham.
The statement reads it will be business as usual until December 31st, but Thursday dinner service has been discontinued.
What’s next for Fork and Dagger? We’ll keep you posted.
