Savannah’s Bandana Burger planning Whitemarsh Island location
If you listened to our chat with William LaFlower on the Eat It and Like It Podcast last month, you already knew this moment was coming.
William told us point blank: “Ten years from now, you’re gonna be seeing Bandana Burger do big things.” We believed him then. And now, less than a month later, he’s already putting that vision into motion.
Bandana Burger is opening a second location on Whitemarsh Island — moving into the former Five Guys spot — and if you know anything about William’s story, there’s a beautiful irony in that. This is a man who learned the restaurant business working alongside former Five Guys operator Chris Smith right here in Savannah. Now he’s setting up shop in one of their old addresses. Full circle doesn’t quite cover it.

The original Habersham Village location — now open 9 AM to 5 AM, twenty hours a day — has clearly built enough momentum to support this move. People are driving in from Jacksonville, from Charleston, from all over the Coastal Empire just to get their hands on a Bandana Burger. Whitemarsh Island gives a whole new corner of this community a reason to stay local.
William talked to us about merging food and merchandise, about building something for his family, about the dream that was essentially born at Yankee Stadium when his grandfather told him he could only pick one line — food or merchandise. Bandana Burger has always been the answer to that impossible choice.
The second location is the answer to something bigger. You can hear my entire conversation with William below.
